The High School Equivalency (HSE) program offers instruction to assist learners in preparing to successfully pass a designated high school equivalency assessment. The three nationally-recognized assessments used to obtain a High School Equivalency Diploma awarded by the State Board of Community Colleges are Pearson (GED Testing Service), HiSET® and TASC. All three High School Equivalency assessments are recognized by US Department of Education and cover the same content areas. Both the HiSet and TASC are offered as a Computer-Based Testing (CBT) and PencilBased Testing (PBT). Passing any one of the assessments will lead to the same High School Equivalency Diploma issued by the North Carolina State Board of Community Colleges.
