The Health Sciences – Pre-Healthcare Careers certificate is designed to provide students with concentrated coursework in medical terminology and basic patient care. Upon completion of the required courses, a certificate is awarded by the College.
Students successfully complete the Nurse Aide I course are eligible for the state-approved Nurse Aide I Training and Competency Testing. Successful completion of state-approved testing allows students eligibility for listing on the North Carolina Nurse Aide Registry as a Nurse Aide I. Earning this credential opens immediate opportunities for employment within the healthcare field.
Graduates of the Associate in Applied Science Health Sciences – Patient Care Services (Nurse Aide) track will earn an associate degree and a Nurse Aide I certificate. Designed for students interested in healthcare programs with limited-admission criteria, this certificate strengthens applications for highly competitive healthcare programs with limited admission criteria. Limited-admission programs look favorably upon credentials such as Nurse Aide I, often increasing student chances of admission.
