Southeastern Community College offers a variety of financial aid opportunities, especially for students who would be unable to begin or to continue their college education without aid. Types of financial aid include grants, scholarships, and on-campus jobs which help students meet the cost of attending college. Financial aid is available to students who demonstrate need and who are enrolled in degree-granting programs as well as diploma and certificate programs. Applicants must submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) which is used by the Financial Aid office to determine student eligibility for financial aid. All students are encouraged to complete the FAFSA application and to seek financial aid opportunities early in the college application process. Other financial aid opportunities include applying for SCC Foundation Scholarships. More information on available scholarships can be found at www.sccnc.edu/paying-for-college/scholarships/. Students should contact the SCC Financial Aid Office at (910) 788-6214 or at finaid@sccnc.edu with any questions or for additional information that may be needed.
Financial assistance may also be available for continuing education or workforce classes that lead to an industry-recognized credential. Students who want to gain new employment-related skills may be eligible to receive assistance with registration fees, books, and supplies. Interested persons should contact the Columbus County NCWorks Career Center and inquire about the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program. The NCWorks office is located in the A-Building at Southeastern Community College and is open daily for student inquiries. NCWorks can be contacted by phone at (910) 788-6261.
