Students may be classified as described below.
- Full-Time Student…
- a student enrolled for 12 or more credit hours per semester.
- Part-Time Student…
- a student enrolled for less than 12 credit hours per semester. Part-time students may enroll for individual curriculum courses. Credits earned as a part-time student may be applied to a degree, diploma or certificate depending upon the level of course work.
- Freshman…
- a student who has earned less than 32 credit hours.
- Sophomore…
- a student who has earned 32 or more credit hours.
- Special Student…
- a student taking individual credit courses but not working toward a degree. When a special student has accumulated 12 credit hours or more, he/she is encouraged to enter an academic program. A special student is generally not eligible for many types of financial assistance. Special credit students who wish to enroll in a program of study must complete all admission requirements. Credits earned as a special credit student may be applied to program requirements, if appropriate. (Procedure 5.2.1.1)
